"I was into music at a very young age. My mom is a part-time professional singer, so she always tried to get my older brother and I into something musical. Both my parents families’ are filled with musicians. The sounds of Joni Mitchel, John Mayer, and Crosby Stills Nash and Young could always be heard in my house growing up. I started taking piano lessons when I was six, but never really liked practicing so I quit when I was 11 because I wanted to play guitar. My parents bought me a guitar, but I was a lazy little boy and never played it until years later. When I was going into seventh grade at Mount Saint Charles Academy, I wanted to be in the band, so I started playing trombone. From seventh grade on I was very musically involved at school. I was in Junior High Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Handbell Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble. I also participated in the open mic nights and school rock concerts. The first time I ever sang in public (other than pre-K graduation) was when I was in 9th grade. My band “Drop The Juicebox” played at my school’s “Charitably Loud,” a rock concert where all the proceeds go to charity. I started singing more and more after that with various bands. I was never a fan of rap, just alternative, folk and jazz. When some of my friends in high school started a rap group called “Sentra 96” I discovered an appreciation for the genre. I became better at guitar during junior and senior year of high school, and started writing songs. They’re just bedroom recordings, but I’m still proud of a few of them. I never have trouble writing music on guitar, but lyrics can be tricky. My brother, Spencer, and I started playing out at bars in our home city in the fall of my junior year. We now have a bar that our music group plays at every week in the summer and whenever we are home from school. Our group consists of my brother on guitar and vocals, my friend Jon on cajon and percussion, my friend Brian on upright bass, and myself on guitar, keys, and backing vocals. Now that I’m in college, I play and sing at any event I can. I found the other members of Timexone because of our similar love for music. We are gonna be the next big thing."
