"I never really cared that much for music til I was about 12 years old. My dad on the way to school every morning would be bumping soul jams, jazz, and R&B. I guess you can say he influenced me in my love for harmonies and smooth music. I started to get into music in freshmen year of high school. My friends and I smoke a lot of weed and did drugs so we were mostly listening to psychedelic shit. You all that Pink Floyd, Tame Impala, Kid Cudi. Rap to me was kind of stupid. I use to think it doesn't take any skill to rap over a beat, nor does even sound good. The rap song I would listen too was Big Poppa by Biggie Smalls, cause I liked how smooth it was. Tenth grade I started listening to old school rap because I thought that modern rap was trash... I didn't allow all of rap into my life until I was very depressed. My family was making go to clinics to help deal with my anger and drug problem. In the months that followed after I stopped smoking weed and doing other drugs were very grim. I saw no point in life If I couldn't get high. Especially music would never be as good as it was to me anymore when I was high. In these months, I found rapping. Junior year I was forced into a rap battle in the lunch room on the day. One of the old head seniors fried me with his verse, but I said one line and everyone went crazy. That night I went online and watch videos of rappers on youtube freestyling on Sway in the Morning and I decided to try it myself. I hit the ground running with rap. Senior year I got together with a couple kids from my original crew that I met through the rap club that I start in my school. We would stay over our man DOC's house every weekend and stay up all night recording and making beats in the sauna. Now I'm in college and have another group that I'm apart of. TIMEXONE."
